The Trustees and Sub-Committee were saddened to hear of the death in April of Dr Marjorie Ziff, a long time FUAM Honorary Vice-President, who with her husband had been a generous donor to the University.
The University of Leeds International Concert Series' Summer Festival, Untold, Unheard and Hidden Stories, takes place from 30 June -7 July. Concerts will explore little-known repertoire and include music from around the world, but each event will have a specific connection to Leeds. This year’s Annual General Meeting and Social Event will take place on Wednesday 28 June at 5.30pm in the School of Music. The AGM will be followed by a talk by Dr Robert McManners OBE and a buffet supper. Dr Robert McManners is a medical doctor by profession and an artist by inclination. With Gillian Wales he created the Mining Art Gallery in Bishop Auckland as part of The Auckland Project. His talk is called Shafts of Light, the title of his book.
